Save videos to Dropbox
Connect Dropbox and save a finished Clevera video as an MP4 into Clevera's own app folder (Apps › Clevera-ai), named after the video with a subfolder for its collection. Nothing is posted or shared.
Save a finished Clevera video into your Dropbox as an MP4 file. Clevera names the file after the video and puts it in a subfolder named after the video's collection. Nothing is posted or shared: the file is as private as the folder it lands in.
Clevera works only inside its own app folder in your Dropbox, Apps › Clevera-ai. It can't see, list or open anything else in your Dropbox.
For how publishing works across every platform, see Publish videos to your platforms.
What lands where
| Where it goes | Apps › Clevera-ai / Clevera / <collection name> / <video title>.mp4 by default. You can pick another folder inside Apps › Clevera-ai. |
| Sharing | None. The file is private to your Dropbox unless the folder is shared. |
| What Clevera fills | File name (the video title) and Subfolder (the collection). No AI writing. |
| What it costs | No per-send fee. |
| After you send | The status goes straight to Saved to Dropbox. Open in Dropbox shows the file in its folder. |
Before you start
- Plan. Publishing is part of the Pro plan and above.
- Role. Only workspace owners and admins can connect or disconnect an account. Anyone who can edit a video can save to an account that's already connected.
- Space. Your Dropbox needs enough free space for the rendered file.
Connect Dropbox
Open Integrations
Open Integrations from the sidebar. Dropbox is under Storage.

Sign in with Dropbox
Click Connect. Dropbox asks you to sign in, then shows what Clevera is asking for:
- View basic information about your Dropbox account, to show the account's name in Clevera.
- View information about your Dropbox files and folders, to list folders in the picker and check that a saved file arrived.
- Edit content of your Dropbox files and folders, to upload the video.
Clevera connects as an app-folder app, so the file and folder access is limited to its own folder, Apps › Clevera-ai. Clevera can't see, list or open anything else in your Dropbox.
Allow access
Click Allow. You land back on Integrations with the account on the Dropbox card.

To add another Dropbox, click Add account and sign in to the other account on Dropbox's page.
Save a video to Dropbox
Open the Publish tab
Open the video, click Share, then Publish. Click Publish… (or Publish again).
Tick the Dropbox account
Under Send to → Storage, tick the Dropbox account.
Check the file name and folder
The details are filled in already. Change the name or folder if you like; changes save as you type. The preview shows the path and the file as it will appear. In the preview, Dropbox stands for Clevera's app folder, Apps › Clevera-ai.

The preview shows the path: Dropbox / Clevera / Onboarding / Acme onboarding tour.mp4, inside Apps › Clevera-ai. Save it
Click Save to Dropbox. The note says "The video file is saved to your Dropbox. Nothing is posted." To finish later, click Keep as draft.
File name and folders
File name starts as the video's title, in the language of the selected render. Leave it empty to use the title. Clevera always adds .mp4, so don't type it.
Folder decides where the file goes. Every choice is inside Clevera's app folder, Apps › Clevera-ai:
| Choice | Where the file goes |
|---|---|
| Clevera (default) | A folder named Clevera inside Apps › Clevera-ai, created on the first save. |
| Dropbox | The top of Clevera's app folder, Apps › Clevera-ai. |
| Any other folder | The folders inside Apps › Clevera-ai and inside Clevera, sorted by name. |

The list never shows your other Dropbox folders, because Clevera can't see them. To save into a folder a team or client works from, create it inside Apps › Clevera-ai in Dropbox and share it from there.
Subfolder starts as the name of the video's collection, so videos from the same collection end up together. It's created inside the chosen folder if it doesn't exist. Clear it to save straight into the folder. A video that isn't in a collection has no subfolder.
The folder list is refreshed about once an hour. A folder you just created in Dropbox may take that long to appear; you can also type its name in Subfolder.
Fields and limits
| Field | Limit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| File name | 251 characters (255 with .mp4) |
Optional. Leave empty to use the video title. The counter shows characters, for example "20 / 251". |
| Folder | One of the listed folders, required | Remembered per account for next time. |
| Subfolder | 255 characters | Optional. Created if missing. |
Dropbox doesn't allow / \ < > : " | ? * in names. Clevera replaces them when it saves: " becomes ' and the others become -. Trailing dots and spaces are removed.
Same name twice? Clevera never overwrites a file. If a file with that name is already there, Dropbox keeps both and adds a number, for example Acme onboarding tour (1).mp4.
Video requirements
| Limit | |
|---|---|
| File size | Up to 350 GB |
| Format | MP4 |
Statuses you'll see
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Waiting for render | Saves as soon as the render finishes. It sits under Sends after the render, above Sent. |
| Queued / Uploading N% | The file is on its way to Dropbox. |
| Saving to Dropbox | The file just arrived and is being filed. It may show for a moment; there's no separate processing step. |
| Saved to Dropbox | "Saved to your Dropbox." Open in Dropbox shows the file in the folder it was saved to. |
| Failed | Nothing was saved, or the save didn't finish. The message says why. |
| Removed | The file was deleted in Dropbox. |
In Dropbox afterwards
The file is a normal MP4 in Apps › Clevera-ai in your Dropbox. Share it, move it or rename it there. Clevera doesn't create a share link and doesn't change the file after saving it. If you delete it, the row in Clevera changes to Removed.
Troubleshooting
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "There isn't enough free space in your Dropbox. Free some up, then retry." | Make room or upgrade your Dropbox plan, then click Retry. |
| "Dropbox didn't accept some of the details. Check them and send again." | The folder no longer exists in Apps › Clevera-ai (for example, it was moved or renamed) or is read-only. Pick another folder and save again. It can also mean the file name isn't allowed. |
| "Reconnect your Dropbox account to send this." | The connection ended, for example after you removed Clevera in Dropbox. Click Reconnect, then Retry. |
| "Dropbox rejected the video: the file is larger than allowed." | The render is too big. Render at a lower resolution. |
| "The upload was interrupted. Retry to carry on from where it stopped." | Dropbox was busy for too long. Click Retry. |
| "This render is no longer available. Render the video again to send it." | Click Render again, then save. |
| "Something went wrong while sending this to Dropbox. Please try again. Reference: …" | Click Retry. If it keeps failing, contact support with the reference. |
Disconnect Dropbox
- Open Integrations, find the account on the Dropbox card and click ⋯ → Disconnect.
- Confirm. Clevera revokes its access at Dropbox, saves still in progress stop, and files already saved stay in your Dropbox.
To check from Dropbox's side, open Settings → Connected apps on dropbox.com. Clevera should no longer be listed; if it is, click Disconnect there.
FAQ
Does Clevera share the file? No. It saves the file and stops there. Share it from Dropbox.
Can Clevera see my other files? No. Its access is limited to its own app folder, Apps › Clevera-ai. Inside that folder it reads folder names, to fill the picker, and adds files. It can't see anything else in your Dropbox.
Can I save into a team folder or another folder in my Dropbox? Not directly. Clevera only writes inside Apps › Clevera-ai. Share a folder from there, or move the file after it's saved.
Why is my file in a subfolder? The subfolder is the video's collection. Clear Subfolder before saving to put it straight in the folder.
Does saving use credits? No. There's no per-send fee for storage.
Can I save the same video again? Yes. Click Send to this account again. Dropbox adds a number to the name instead of replacing the first file.
