Edit the animated scenes in a how-to or demo
Change the words on a how-to or demo's animated scenes right on the video, switch a scene to another layout, rewrite or re-record its voice-over, move or delete it. Everything else, ask the agent.
How-to videos and product demos made from a recording now have animated scenes between the clips of your recording: a cover, what you'll learn, step markers, feature cards, a recap and a closing logo, each with its own voice-over. In the editor you can change their words, swap a scene to another layout, rewrite what's said, and move or delete scenes. Anything else, such as colors, a scene's design or new scenes, you ask the agent for.
Videos made before animated scenes keep their intro and title cards; see Edit scenes and cards.
Change the words on a scene
Pause on the scene
Open the video in the editor and pause while the animated scene is on screen. The first time, a hint says "Click any text in this scene to change it right here. Approve to save it, or press Esc to cancel."
Click the text
Click a title, line or list item on the video and type. Long lines fit themselves to the scene. To color a few words in the scene's accent, select them and click Emphasise (⌘E on a Mac, Ctrl E on Windows).
Approve
Click Approve (or Approve N changes after several edits). Press Esc to cancel. You can also start from the scene's row in the Script tab with Edit text.
| Message | Why |
|---|---|
| "12 over the 60-character limit. Shorten it to approve." | Each text has a limit so it fits the layout. |
| "This text cannot be empty." | Delete the scene instead, or ask the agent to drop that item. |
| "This scene shows no text to edit." | Some scenes, like a logo outro, have no words to change. |
| "Approve or cancel your changes first." | Finish the open edit before playing or moving on. |
Changing the words doesn't change the voice-over. Edit the narration too if it should say something different.
Try another layout
Many scenes come in two or more versions with their own layout and motion. On the scene's row in the Script tab, click the version chip (for example "Version A of 2") and pick another: "Same text and voice-over, another layout." ⌘Z / Ctrl Z switches back.
Change what's said
On the scene's row in the Script tab:
- Edit narration opens the line. Change it and save: it's recorded again in the video's voice.
- Scenes that play back to back share one voice-over so they flow as one passage. Their row shows Edit the sequence narration instead, and the whole passage is recorded again.
- Regenerate voice records the same line again, for a different read.
Recording a line uses credits like any voice-over line; a voice from your own ElevenLabs account uses none of ours. See Edit the script and voice-over.
Move or delete a scene
Drag the row by Drag to move scene, or choose Delete this scene in its menu. The video closes the gap; the clips of your recording aren't changed.
Ask the agent for everything else
Open the agent in the editor and say what you want. For example:
- "Use the dark version of this style" or "Make the accent our brand blue."
- "Add a step marker before the export step."
- "Make the recap list only three points."
- "Change the music to something calmer."
Big changes show a plan with the credits first. See Get help and make things with the Clevera agent.
Good to know
- Captions are hidden while an animated scene plays, because the scene shows its own words.
- Translations translate the scenes' words and record their voice-over again in the new language. See Translate a finished video.
- Your template doesn't change after the video is made. Editing the template affects only new videos.
